It all hinges on the length!

Wearing boots can instantly boost an outfit when paired with trousers, jeans, or shorts. But the more challenging pairing is matching it with skirts or dresses. It may look tricky and daunting at first, but it all comes down to knowing which skirt length works best with your booties. Below, we’ve come up with five tricks to help you put together the best OOTD wearing your fave skirt and trusty boots.

Mini skirt + Knee-high boots

Here’s a pairing that will never get out of style. This combo lets you show some skin without flashing too much of your legs. Just remember: if you’re wearing fitted boots, wear a boxy skirt to balance your silhouette.

Knee-length skirt + Biker boots

Knee-length or above-the-knee skirts can give you a bit more room to play around with many types of boots. But you can try to wear some tough, chunky biker boots with it. This especially works with frayed denim skirts.

A-line skirt + Calf boots

This specific cut of skirt is usually worn in the office but you can totally make it work casually by slipping into one of the season’s hottest shoes–calf boots. When worn together, especially in a monochromatic palette, you can both add shape and height to your body.

Midi skirt + Chelsea boot

Midi skirts can easily be granny chic. But when you pair one with a flat Chelsea boot, you exude the right amount of toughness and sexiness, just by showing a sliver of skin in between two pieces.

Maxi skirt + Ankle boots

With a maxi skirt's billowing and often flowy hem, you’d think you wouldn’t be able to wear them with boots as you tend to look extremely bulky. The trick here is to pair the skirt with a pair of tight-fitting ankle boots with slim heels to balance the look.
