Manila's most fashionable had yet another reason to don their best black and white ensembles for the second outing of the Philippine Fashion Ball, an affair organized by Noel Manapat, Robby Carmona, and Keren Pascual to fête the movers and shakers of the Philippine fashion industry.
Fashion designers, models, makeup and hair stylists, photographers, show organizers and directors, stylists, celebrities, fashion media, and other style arbiters of the metro gathered at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Peninsula Manila last August 24 to recognize the ultra-talented and hard-working individuals and organizations that make the local fashion industry thrive. Amidst the glamorous revelry, pillars and pioneers of the Filipino fashion industry were given awards by their peers. Among those commemorated were:
Auggie Cordero and Cesar Gaupo for Excellence in Fashion Design
Randy Ortiz for Excellence in Menswear Design
Loretto Popico for Excellence in Fashion Illustration
Alex Carbonell and Celeste Tuviera for Excellence in Hair Design
Mich Dulce for Excellence in Accessory Design
Raymund Isaac, Ronnie Salvacion, Xander Angeles, and Mark Nicdao for Excellence in Fashion Photography
Liz Uy, Pam Quinones, Millet Arzaga, Luis Espiritu, and Jenni Epperson for Excellence in Fashion Styling
Slim's Fashion and Arts School for the Lifetime Achievement Award
Preview Emerging Fashion Talent Awards (PEFTA) for the Industry Award
It wouldn't have been a total fashion fête if Best Dressed awards weren't handed out. The Belvedere Best Dressed Awards went to Pauline Camille (in a sheer, beaded gown by Cherry Samuya Veric) and Oliver Abrenica.
