Paris Fashion Week kicks off today with its Spring 2015 shows ready to take the spotlight, but not before the New York City Ballet (NYCB) has its last hurrah. Just as the lights go up in Paris, the curtains open for the NYCB dancers who take the stage at tonight’s gala dressed in costumes designed by Carolina Herrera, Thom Browne, Mary Katrantzou, and Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton. NYCB board vice chair Sarah Jessica Parker came up with this unique idea of bringing together fashion and the performing arts as each designer was paired with a choreographer to develop the stunning costumes.
