The Met's Costume Institute will not only be spanking new after its $40-million renovation, but will also be carrying a new name come May 8 when it launches. Renamed after Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the Costume Institute will now be called Anna Wintour Costume Center. The editor, who has been The Met's trustee since 1999, helped raised funds for the renovation.

"Since 1995, she has presided over 15 benefits there, turning what was once just another fancy fund-raiser into a must-attend event that attracts fashion designers, actors and celebrities from around the world," The New York Times reports.
