Today, sneakers have become a money-making giant. Sneakerheads wait each other out just to get their hands on the latest drops. In 2012, Nike’s line of LeBron James sneakers made $300 million in American sales alone. Even high end labels like Christian Louboutin and Chanel have hopped on the bandwagon to pacify the market's demand. 

With much hype surrounding these shoes, some probably wouldn’t have bothered to find out the history behind it.
