Alex Eala just made history once again! On Monday, August 25, the 20-year-old became the first Filipino athlete to win a major singles match in the Open Era.

Currently ranked 75th in the world, the tennis ace upset Denmark’s Clara Tauson, the 14th seed, in a dramatic five-set match that ended with a tense tiebreaker. The victory marked not only her US Open main draw debut, but also a defining breakthrough on the international stage.

Much like her historic win at the Miami Open five months prior, Alex donned a spectrum of reds from head to toe— a color that seems to be linked to her biggest victories.

The tennis prodigy stepped onto the court in a sleeveless, red Nike top detailed with a slim black vertical line down the front, and styled with a deep maroon skort, matching maroon visor, and wristbands.
