Dr. Martens first came on the scene in the '90s when they became the preferred footwear of the grunge movement. When the plaid shirts and scruffy jeans skipped town, we started seeing less and less of the formidable boots. They've been making a comeback of late with scenesters like Saab Magalona, Sanya Smith, Jenni Epperson, and Preview's Fashion Editor Daryl Chang going out and about in their 8-holed wonders.
Seeing a great business opportunity, Borgy Manotoc together with his business partners brought the brand back into town with a store in the heart of Bonifacio Global City. We could already sense the excitement buzzing (through Twitter, most especially) before the launch and the feedback was great!
Now apart from the usual round-toed boots with the striated rubber sole, they also brought in an updated style whose boot comes in a rich black or mahogany leather contrasted with a clean white sole. Other styles like the lower-cut lace-ups up to the higher 16-holes have also begun to appear on the retail shelves.
If you're hankering to get your hands on a pair visit the Dr. Martens store at the Fort Strip Plaza, Bonifacio Global City. Just look out for a very cool-looking container next to Cafe Puccini.
