We've known Princess Diana to be a style icon in the '80s through the '90s, and it seems like The Crown's costume designers are going to great lengths to replicate the late Princess of Wales' wardrobe. Over the past month, Emma Corrin, who is to play Diana and make her debut on the Netflix series in its succeeding season, has been spotted in various filming locations all over the U.K. Through these photos, we're getting a good glimpse of what's to come on The Crown.
Emma was seen in a very retro hot pink ensemble with her castmate Josh O'Connor, who plays her onscreen husband. The dress came complete with a matching fascinator. Meanwhile, her real-life counterpart was famously photographed in that very same outfit during a walkabout in Australia in 1983.
She was also seen hiding a familiar floral dress underneath her beige trenchcoat. It's safe to assume that the actress was in the middle of recreating Princess Diana and Prince Charles' wedding rehearsal in 1981.
On another day, the 24-year-old British actress donned a ruched asymmetric dress similar to the one Princess Diana wore during her iconic visit to The Savoy hotel in 1989.
If historical events and wardrobe knowledge count as spoilers, we don't mind knowing more.
