Global luxury fashion has become accessible to Manila’s A-listers thanks to homegrown retailer, Rustan’s. The company has been bringing in designer brands for the fashion savvy to enjoy—Diane Von Furstenberg, Emilio Pucci, Helmut Lang, and Halston Heritage, to name a few.
Just recently, Rustan’s adds another esteemed international designer to its Dress Salon section—no other than the creative genius Tadashi Shoji. His signature figure-flattering techniques such as ruching, draping, and shutter pleats have already won him a Hollywood following, including Katy Perry, Kate Beckinsale, and Dita Von Teese.
Tadashi himself has graced the Manila launch of his Fall 2012 collection where he also auctioned off three dresses for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga and Philippine Red Cross. His latest collection takes a page from Shanghai’s Golden Age during the ‘20s and ‘30s—during its heydey as “Paris of the East”—featuring a bevy of chantilly lace, peony floral prints, burn-out velvet, and with lots of embroidery and tulles as elegant finishes.
Tadashi Shoji is exclusively available at Rustan’s Makati and Shangri-La Plaza.
