Remember that ">Nicole Kidman Chanel N°5 film by Baz Luhrmann from ten years ago? It was one of those fragrance ads pretty hard to forget because you know that so much effort was put into the making of it. Call it a commercial, a trailer for a movie that never made it to the screens, or a film all you want, but to us, it was Chanel at its finest—cinematic and filled with so much class and elegance. It was ad but not a hard sell of the product, as it focused more on portraying the kind of woman who would wear the classic scent.
This October, Chanel decided to release another unforgettable short film/ad, this time featuring supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Staying true to the essence of the brand, director Baz Luhrmann still made it about the Chanel woman. He filled it with to-die-for Chanel couture meshed with Chanel’s trademark sportswear paradox through suits and surfboards, diamond studded number 5 scene-stealer earrings as accessories, and finally a story of a woman who has a family, a career, but in the end always chooses love—all of which are components that make Chanel N°5 one of the most desirable fragrances out there.
