It was a big night for the StyLIZed team, headed by top celebrity stylist Liz Uy, last Saturday as they dressed not just one, not even two, but five stunning ladies for the 9th Star Magic Ball. Who were they? Best Dressed picks Bea Alonzo and Ellen Adarna as well as Julia Barretto, Alex Gonzaga, and Belle Daza (who reportedly had a last-minute outfit change inside an Aston Martin). Here, the team shares how each girl got prepped for the ball.
ELLEN ADARNA
Ellen’s selection of jewels was from Australian label MANIAMANIA, which went perfectly with her Medusa and Midas Neil Felipp minaudiere.
As for the outfit, the styling team took a masculine route by opting for a cream colored suit by Joey Samson.
Makeup artist Albert Kurniawan topped the look off with rimmed eyes, strong brows, and wine-colored lips while hairstylist Mark Familara swept Ellen's hair up in a loose mid-pony.
BEA ALONZO
Bea’s white Neil Felipp box clutch and Edwardian diamond and sapphire jewels from Janina Dizon perfectly complemented her stark white Alexander McQueen column dress.
Makeup artist Juan Sarte and hairstylist Brent Sales mimic the dress’ subdued elegance with soft smokey eyes and brushed back hair.
Overall, Bea’s look was clean, polished, and well edited with subtle pieces that don’t take away from the wearer.
JULIA BARRETTO
The looks (yes, she had two!) for Julia were all about transforming and being able to consistently mix and match accessories. Janina Dizon’s interchangeable jewels provided them with those options.
Her glam team, composed of makeup artist Lala Flores and hairstylist John Valle, also came up with a beauty look that would go well with both of her outfits for that evening—smokey eyes, frosted pink lips, and loose waves.
Her first dress for the evening was a gauzy champagne number by Mark Bumgarner. With this outfit, makeup, and hair, we were reminded of a sweetened version of Rihanna’s red Azzedine Alaïa look at the 2013 Grammys.
For the cotillion, she changed into another champagne number, also by Mark, with a fuller skirt and an asymmetrical neckline.
ALEX GONZAGA
Hairstylist Redd Paule and makeup artist Gela Laurel-Stehmeier begin to work on Alex’s sleek pony tail and smokey eyed look.
Accessories were kept to a minimum—the StyLIZed signature touch for the evening—with Alex opting to wear just a diamond ear crawler by Denovo.
With everything else kept minimal, Rajo Laurel added drama to Alex’s look with puffed, off-shoulder sleeves and a sweeping train paired with trousers.
ISABELLE DAZA
Belle had an array of clutches from Rafe Totengco and Beatriz Accessories laid out for her but opted for a white-beaded Bea Valdes for the evening.
Makeup artist Mayesa delos Santos gave the look a touch of color with a creamy plum lip. After which, hairstylist Antonio Papa gave her an easy low-pony to show off the back of the dress.
Belle stepped out of her Aston Martin dressed in a back-baring crème Vania Romoff number, arriving as one of lasts at the event.
