"The world isn't our sala!" If your mom has used this line on you before, then you know better than anyone that it means your outfit looks ready for a day spent vegging out in front of the TV. But what happens when you coax favorite (read: butas-butas) pambahay pieces out of the house and onto the streets? We decided to have a bit of fun and take on the pambahay styling challenge.
Check it out below and take cues on how to spin your well-worn home threads into five totally wearable looks!
1. Oversized t-shirt

This one's pretty easy. Anyone can work an oversized tee (off-duty models are perfect examples), but take things a notch higher by donning one that's long enough to be a dress, then throwing a partly undone denim mini on top.
2. Sando

Spruce up an otherwise ordinary ribbed maxi dress by layering on a sando then cinching the ends tight. It's an interesting alternative to the camisole!
3. Daster

A classic white shirt, a denim jacket, and pair of suede boots are all you need to take a floral daster out. Time to steal your lola's!
4. Bedroom slippers

Luckily, slides and slippers have been runway-approved for some seasons now. Start your foray into the look by teaming your pair with simple yet on-trend pieces (say, a ruffled pussybow blouse and a pleated midi).
5. Pajamas

We dare you to step out for the evening in your trusty PJs. Wear the top half-unbuttoned and low on the shoulders, then toss a lacy slip over the whole ensemble for a smoldering bedroom vibe.
