June holds a spot in our calendar not just because it’s the anniversary issue but also because with it, we celebrate the birthday of none other than the Editor in Chief herself, Pauline Juan. Since it is her birthday today after all, we get to know her a little bit more with this snappy Q&A. Go and get reading!

WHEN I WAS 19…

At 19, what were the things that mattered to you most?

Drama.

What were the trends then?

Minimalism, pointy pumps, cropped tops... Sounds familiar? Nope. No one dressed up when I was 19.

What’s one thing you learned at 19 that stuck with you?

How would a Preview Girl be like in her 20s?

She's still the same kind of girl but with more high-tech gadgets.

JUST CURIOUS…

Be honest. What clothes make you cringe?

Hoe-badera.

What did you wear to your first job interview?

Jeans, I think. Oddly, I can't remember.

What are the tell-tale signs you like an applicant in a job interview?

If I like your answer to the question "What magazines/sites/blogs do you read?"

What was it like attending your first fashion week?

It was all about the coverage. I didn't even plan what I was going to wear.

Yes, now more than ever.

THIS OR THAT?

Hubadera or WASP-y?

Hubadera. If I could live in a bikini, I would.

Bronzed or Matte?

Bronzed.

Strappy stilettos or pointy pumps?

This question is like asking me to choose between my children.

Lipstick or lipgloss?

Lip stain

Carine Roitfeld or Anna Wintour?

Carine during her Vogue Paris days.

High school, college, or work?

Work. Looking back is imperative; keep an eye on the future; but your focus should be on the here and now.
