All young girls dream of becoming a princess, and Julia Barretto is no different. Hailing from an artista family, this strong-browed beauty became a celebrity before she was even born. And on her eighteenth birthday, she deserved nothing less than a grand fairytale celebration.
Lucky for you, Style Bible had exclusive access to the lovely debutante’s royal boudoir – the presidential suite at Makati Shangri-La Hotel where she also celebrated her coming of age. Curious to see how this teen star transformed into a fine young lady? Below, we give you a blow-by-blow account of the hours leading up to #JustJulia.
We were greeted by a barefaced Julia when we arrived at her dressing room. Seeing how she managed to look fresh and confident even without makeup on, we could already picture the Mirabella star mesmerizing her guests at the ballroom.
Her stylist and makeup artist getting the debutante all dolled up for her big day.
In an interview with her glam team, celebrity makeup artist Lala Flores explained how she wanted to focus more on Julia’s eyes and keep the colors neutral. “Julia’s very classy, even her style. We’ll keep everything simple and just work on her eyes with shades of rose gold, bronze, and neutral browns.”
Meanwhile, her hairstylist, John Valle, said they decided on a look that mirrored Julia’s sweet and effortlessly charming character. “We decided on an updo that’s a little bit messy, not too tight and not too curly. It’s very sweet, very romantic, and perfect for her Michael Cinco ball gown,” he said.
While waiting for Julia to finish her hair and makeup, we couldn’t resist finally zooming in on the dress that she’d be wearing to her party. Who needs Cinderella’s glass slippers when you have a sexy pair of Jimmy Choo red steppers and a majestic Michael Cinco frock fit for a princess?
Our first question upon seeing the dress was, “Why red?” Celebrity stylist Liz Uy revealed that the party’s invite required the guests to come in black and white, so they basically wanted to make sure that Julia stood out. When asked why they chose Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco, Liz said, “It was Julia’s decision. Her style is very elegant and feminine. Everything in this gown is her—Just on its own, it shines.”

Julia is finally ready to slip into her debutante frock. But first, we caught a sweet mom-and-daughter moment—Selfie!
