Last January 14, 2015—before the Pope came to town—six talented student designers from the Style and Design Academy Manila, presented their graduation collections in front of their mentors, family, and members of the fashion industry. SDA prides itself in helping design hopefuls transform their dreams into reality. And after that night, six new designers were born. Andrea Domaoan, Janina Zerrudo, Ther Ortiz-Tan, Mary Ann Sy, Kate Sacluti and Rhina Galang each sent six creations that were true to their individual aesthetics down the runway at the Octoarts Building, Quezon City as their baptism into the fashion industry. From Andrea's take on the modern Tiger Lily, Janina's spider web-inspired collection, Ther's love for Japanese culture and Samurais, Mary Ann's fascination with Spanish Art History, Kate's interpetation of the ugly duckling, and Rhina's amalgamation of heterogeneity, see how the graduates managed to bring these inspirations to life by clicking on the gallery for their full collections.
