Stacy Rodriguez: Fashion In The Mix The Glasnost designer serves up her latest: an El Greco-inspired lineup of sheer and acid wash wardrobe staples.

For the second installation of Fashion in the Mix, Glasnost designer Stacy Rodriguez presented her latest collection, entitled Greco, worn by her fab muses—Divine Lee, Megan Young, Helena Belmonte, Veronica Mendez, Pam Quinones, An Estrada, En Estrada, Janthina Fong, Bianca Crisologo, Pauline Prieto, and Savannah Lumen, together with Jigs Mayuga and David Milan.

Greco takes its name from Stacy's art inspiration: the works of the great Spanish Renaissance artist, El Greco. On here recent trip to Spain, she fell in love with the maestro's works. "The color story and overall feel of the collection is taken from [this] Spanish painter's masterpieces," says Stacy. "He plays well with interpreting darkness, which I could relate with because I love working with black. His strong accent colors are always olive and rust—two colors I used a lot in this collection. Lastly, I was inspired by his big strokes and made mapped out patterns with my signature technique, acid wash."

Cutting the very wearable Glasnost pieces from mesh, chiffon, jersey, and her trademark acid wash cotton, Stacy continues to churn out easy wardrobe staples that play with form and function. The pieces feature the signature versatility of the line, with straps that allow for multiple ways of styling. Stacy also collaborated with her good friend and accessory designer, Gabbie Tatad of Alati, who created the acid wash harnesses that give the garments their rock 'n roll edge.

"Glasnost means 'transparency' and 'openness' in Russian," Stacy adds. "I think this collection represents all that figuratively and obviously, literally—with all that sheer. I mean it doesn't get more transparent and bold as Divine Lee's ensemble, right?" As for her muses, she felt that these women—and two men!—embody Glasnost's identity. "I like keeping things bold but with mystery. They all exude this in one way or another."
