Spatio at OPUS Mall has opened Shoe Avenue, a dedicated space where shoppers can discover eight Marikina footwear brands all in one place.

Created in partnership with Zapateria, the Philippines’ first creative hub for footwear design, the new concept space brings together established names and emerging labels from the country's shoe capital. The selection offers a range of styles— from classic leather dress shoes and everyday flats to handwoven mules, statement accessories, and children’s sneakers.

Now home to eight Marikina-based brands, the lineup reflects the range of footwear born in the shoe capital, a testament to the city’s generations-old shoemaking expertise and its capacity to embrace newer designs and materials.

Spatio Opens “Shoe Avenue,” A Space for Marikina Shoemakers

Shoe Avenue takes its name from the actual Shoe Avenue in Marikina City, a street once known for its concentration of shoe shops and workshops. The locale helped shape Marikina’s reputation as the Philippines’ Shoe Capital—a legacy that continues through the brands housed in Spatio’s new space.

The concept emerged from conversations between Spatio and Zapateria about how to bring Marikina’s shoemaking community closer to a wider audience. For Spatio, it also fits into its larger effort to position Filipino brands alongside international names.

To date, the department store carries more than 300 local brands across its three floors at Opus Mall in Quezon City.

“We believe local brands have the quality and appeal to stand alongside the best international names,” says Martin De Leon, Deputy General Manager of Spatio. “Shoe Avenue gives Marikina’s shoemakers a proper stage and gives shoppers footwear with real stories, real hands, and real heritage behind every pair.”
