Despite the title of her memoir, #GirlBoss, Sophia Amoruso is sadly no longer the Head-Beezy-in-Charge at Nasty Gal. After serving the company as its CEO for eight years, Sophia announced yesterday on the Nasty Gal blog that she is ready to pass on her crown.

Here is where former Lululemon’s chief product officer Sheree Waterson comes in. Sophia says, “When I hired Sheree Waterson a year or so ago, I hired a CEO. I wasn’t sure if the day would come that I was 1000% certain that my role would evolve the way it has (and it has) or that Sheree would be as incredible of a partner to me as she has. But that day has come.”
Not to worry, this doesn’t mean the end of Sophia’s days at Nasty Gal. Though she may have taken a step back, she’ll continue to head the creative and marketing teams as well as working on expanding stores and, of course, following up with a second book. Hopefully we’ll find more tips on getting our businesses off the ground.
