Emi Jorge is an experienced pro when it comes to the shoe making game. Her company, Solea, has been manufacturing ready-to-wear shoes for nearly two decades. Thirteen years ago, in search of an escape from the humdrum of mass manufacturing, and a little zest in her career, Emi chose to give the made-to-order route a try. She's never looked back since.

Go for the MTO
Emi sees countless reasons why having a customized shoe made for yourself just makes sense:

“In truth people have different forms/shapes of feet and this is the reason why they find some brands uncomfortable. The structure of retail shoes sometimes simply doesn't conform to a potential customer's feet,” explains the designer.

“Women with more discerning taste will deconstruct a prospective shoe in the market and most often a detail or two will fail to satisfy them. Others simply cannot find or don't have the time to look for footwear to complement their attire for a particular event. With a designer's help, the true benefit (of custom-made shoes) is that the client has influence over the style, comfort, color, heel height, and can have them all integrated to her desires.”

The Customer is Always Right
Besides offering the option of having a matching bag made together with your shoes, Emi guarantees the uniqueness of each design. Perhaps what makes Emi Jorge truly stand out, however, is that she can readily incorporate a customer's design aesthetic into her own. Unlike most footwear designers who grant their customers a limited part in the design process, Emi believes in listening to what her client really wants.
