Last March, it was announced that film director and fashion’s long-time muse, Sofia Coppola, would direct the live-action version of The Little Mermaid. However, Coppola will no longer continue this directing stint due to “creative differences”, says Deadline. According to Variety, the ‘Marie Antoinette’ director was banking on newcomer Maya Thurman Hawke, the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. But the studio had other options in mind.
With that out of the way, maybe she could direct more Marc Jacobs campaigns instead?
