Slim's Fashion and Arts School, the legacy of the late Filipino designer Salvacion Lim-Higgins, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. They have a few events lined up to commemorate the event, including a show in Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012, featuring the works of Slim's alumni Cesar Gaupo, James Reyes, Joey Samson, and Michael Cinco, among many others.
For the general public (and those who cannot make it to the PFW show), the school is holding an exhibit featuring the best designs of the 2011 batch, composed of original pieces and reproductions and recreations of the designs of the great Slim's herself. Participating students include PEFTA talents Riza Bulawan and Erika Adona, Monina Gatan, and Kate Villarin. The exhibit is curated by Slim's Fashion and Arts School co-directors Mark and Sandy Higgins.
The exhibit is open to the public from 3:30 to 6PM daily until October 29, 2011.
