In case you haven't heard yet, Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez got more than just her fair share of duets with Sharon Cuneta. The Megastar appeared as a special guest during the Regine at the Movies concert, and in the middle of their Bituing Walang Ningning number, Sharon surprised her longtime friend by gifting her a flower-shaped, diamond ring.
Made out of nine carats of good quality diamonds and set in 18-karat white gold, the hefty two-finger ring is worth around P900,000 to one million—Sharon herself admitted it's the most expensive gift she's ever given.
Crafted by Candy Dizon of Jul B. Dizon Jewelry, the above-mentioned ring was made almost a decade ago. "Sharon came to me and asked me to make a ring for her that she saw in Sex and the City, the movie. It’s a huge flower ring that is worn on two fingers instead of the regular one," Candy tells Preview. "It took us 30 days to complete the ring due to minor revisions that Sharon and I agreed [on] halfway through production."
The jeweler also revealed to us Sharon's reason for giving away her prized accessory after 10 years. "Just today, we were chatting about how much she loves and treasures the ring, but her love for Regine is more important than material things." Because of course, nothing truly solidifies a friendship than a diamond ring worth a million pesos, right?
