The fashion house revealed a set of iconic mini bags in their Metiers D’ Art 2020 collection as a tribute to Chanel’s heritage. The set comes in two colors (classic black or trendy pink) and is parceled in the most luxurious box ever. The four-piece set is housed in a quilted lambskin leather box that opens with a key, slid through the iconic CC logo on the front. Once opened, you’ll see the box contains a mirror and four compartments that perfectly fit the mini handbags.  Inside, you’ll be greeted by two mini 2.55 bags, a mini Boy bag, and the mini Gabrielle handbag.

The two mini Chanel 2.55 bags come in a ruthenium-finish rectangular clasp and the iconic CC clasp. For those who didn't know, Coco Chanel debuted the quilted handbag in February 1955, which was called 2.55, after the date of its creation. The iconic CC clasp is the reinterpretation of Chanel’s former creative director, the late Karl Lagerfeld who created the interlocking CCs. The current price of this bag, in its original size, ranges from 6500 USD to 7700 USD or approximately P314,438 to P372,488.

This set would not be complete without a mini Boy bag which the late creative director debuted during Chanel’s Fall 2012 collection and an ode to Coco Chanel’s first love, Arthur Boy Capel. It was also inspired by Coco Chanel’s masculine accent in her style. Depending on the variant, the original-sized Boy bag ranges from around 4600 USD to 5500 US or approximately P222,525 to P266,063.

Last, but certainly not the least, is the mini tweed Gabrielle (a.k.a. Coco Chanel’s first name) handbag which comes with a double chain and dangling gold CC. The unique shape of the Gabrielle bag was inspired by the silhouette of a binocular case and has been quite a popular choice of bag for street style stars. This bag in the original size ranges from 4100 USD to 5100 USD (approximately P198,338 to P246,713), and comes in a backpack style as well.

We've done the math for you and getting these four totes in their original sizes will gather you a bill amounting to P1.3 million. Now, we know what you're thinking. If you could buy full-sized bags at this price, what would you do with four tiny totes? Well, for one, your P1.5 million will also get you a gorgeous quilted trunk, too. Oh, and seeing these bags are not part of the house's permanent collection, this limited edition set's value will surely appreciate its value over time!
