Sneakerheads will tell you that Converse, your beloved canvas sneaker brand, is actually now owned by Nike. This might be the reason why for the first time in 98 years, they're giving their iconic Chuck Taylor style a game-changing update. Regular Chucks wearers will tell you in all honesty: They're a pain! But that is no longer the case with The Converse Chuck II.
The Chuck II will be available on July 28 and comes in four colors:
Black, White, Salsa Red and Sodalite Blue. (Comes in Hi-Top or Low-Top)
The new release looks a whole lot like the original except it has added an arch support (finally!), cushioned soles (a.k.a. a Lunarlon sockliner - a Nike technology), breathable lining (super soft, micro suede), a padded non-slip tongue and thicker premium canvas.
Purists need not worry: The rubber toe cap and "All Star" emblem are all still in place.
