SEE: Happy Andrada’s Successful Show at Amsterdam Fashion Week Congratulations, Happy!

Designer Happy Andrada just took the definition of world-class to a whole new level after recently showing at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Championing pure Filipino talent, she brought to life a literal out of this world vision and needless to say, left the world market impressed.

Happy has always been one of those talents who never fails to draw inspiration from her Filipino roots, and when she was chosen by Fashion Week Netherlands and Vodafone to showcase her Autumn/Winter 2016 collection, it was only natural for her to put local organic materials into play. Inspired by the aesthetic and out of this world mystery of interplanetary proportions, Happy skillfully juxtaposed organic materials such as piña abaca and abaca lace with denim, organza taffeta, silk, and charmeuse.

In true Pinoy fashion, Happy didn't go for the conventional, and chose not only to toy around with the use of different fabrics, but also incorporated intricate detailing through geometric lines, origami folds, and feminine drapes into her vision. We even spotted showstopping pieces such as digitally printed blazers, dip dyed organza pipes, and a laser cut dress. Yup, all that in one fully charged 10-piece collection ready to take on the future.

With over 70 fashion shows now under her belt, presenting her creations from the Philippines, China, Italy, Canada, Singapore, Japan, and Korea; Happy’s next milestone is only a few weeks away as she is set to present at London Fashion Week this coming February 20, 2016. Proud of you, Happy!
