If you’ve never heard of the movie “Moonrise Kingdom,” written and directed by Wes Anderson, Google it and watch the trailer now. Chris Diaz’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection entitled Sam et Suzy is half inspired by the protagonists of the film about two children who ran away from their somewhat utopian island in search of an adventure, and half by the jungle flora mannerism of French post-Impressionist, Henri Rousseau. Silhouettes from the 1960's setting of the film were made modern by floral embellishments on sheer maxis, men in lace button-downs, and scallop-hem ruffles, sleeves, midi skirts and dresses.
