What a tasteful way to celebrate both Mindanao artisans and the elusive art of suiting.

A tasteful, excellently made fusion of fine tailoring and beautiful Philippine weaves? Yes, please. Kaayo Modern Mindanao and Salvo Women have collaborated to bring you just that: an homage to the extraordinary skills of local artisans that also honors the masterful, elusive art of custom suiting.

For the tie-up's very first photoshoot, the collaboration brought together friends who collectively represent what both labels stand for: Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat, Congresswoman Camille Villar, Atty. Migs Nograles, Kaayo’s Marga Nograles, and Salvo’s Bel Salvosa.

Founded in 2005 by Marga and her daughter, Mary Ann “Baby” Montemayor, Kaayo is a confluence of several factors that converged at the right time. Baby is a staunch advocate of all things Mindanao; Marga, on the other hand, has been working with women for livelihood projects on top of her business engaged in retail and fashion. She was inspired to come up with a business model that would both empower and provide sustainable livelihood to the women.

It is in this light that Kaayo Bespoke by Salvo Women was born. This collaboration line is a luxury bespoke power suit collection hand tailored by Salvo Women, flaunting details and accents either hand beaded, hand woven, or hand embroidered by the tribes of Mindanao.

From catering to men, Salvo Tailoring established Salvo Women in 2018 to create bespoke suits and topcoats for women, now making it possible to give the power woman a suit that perfectly fits her. Salvo Women has built themselves on four key principles: quality, service, innovation, and being economically fair. They use only premium fabrics and materials to ensure that their work is made-to-measure, personalized, and one-of-a-kind.
