Getting hitched anytime soon? Well, if you’re looking for a bridal gown that you won’t regret wearing when you browse through your wedding photos decades from now, then heed our advice: be a Rosa Clara bride.

At the launch of the Spanish label’s 2016 Bridal and Cocktail collection at the Peninsula Manila yesterday, the guests have experienced quite a treat with a preview of its intricately designed white frocks that befit the classic yet practical bride. Using only premium selection of quality fabrics such as silk brocade, traditionally woven lace, silk tulle, crepe, muslin, silk organza, and mikado, the designs vary from drop waists and Sabrina necklines to wide pleats, low backlines, and skirt pockets.

Style Bible had a quick chat with Valerie Villar-Zayco, managing partner of Rosa Clara Philippines, to share with us more deets about this new collection.

Tell us about this collection.

Rosa Clara is known for very timeless and classic wedding gowns. Even if you look back at your wedding five or ten from now, it’s still going to be a gown that could be worn in the present time.  For this collection, we’re giving it a nostalgic twist. Like this one gown—I call it the Downton Abbey gown—it’s very Victorian in a way. Another example is this beaded soft gown with silk tulle, which is a bit of Great Gatsby. It’s something that’ll make you recall a specific era, but very classic still.

Budget is normally a major concern among soon-to-be-married couples. Would you say Rosa Clara offers reasonably affordable bridal wear?

We have so many kinds of brides, so we cater to different styles and price ranges. For the 2016 collection, it starts from P90,000 to P155,000. Rosa Clara is also very particular with fabric choices. We only use high-quality fabric—like our tulle, for example, normally it’s very hard. But if you feel the gowns, it’s soft, and it looks heavy but it’s lighter than how it looks. So I think that’s very reasonably affordable.

Who can you visualize wearing a Rosa Clara wedding gown?

I find that a lot of our brides are young, working ladies who are in control. We have all kinds of styles, so we cater to the princess brides, the corporate lawyer brides—we have designs for everybody.
