Joining the über-stylish likes of Tinsley Mortimer, Ginevra Elkann, and Alexandria Hilfiger, Filipina bag designer Rocio Olbes has been chosen as the latest "Voguette" by the website of Italian high fashion mag, Vogue Italia. Rocio is profiled in the Voguette section under the "Stars, Celebs, Models" portion of the website, where she talks about her style and work as the Creative Director of her UK-based eponymous bag line, which she handles with partners Hamish Menzies and Tessa Nepomuceno.
"I feel beyond flattered," the dusky designer enthuses. "This experience is truly a dream come true! I think I'm the first ever Filipina Voguette—it's so awesome and I feel so happy!"
She's introduced as a "refined bag designer" and is described in the writeup as "beautiful" and "comfortable in front of the camera" with her "elegant and classic" style. In an accompanying video, which was shot in Manila in collaboration with videographer Manjo Zalamea, photographer Raymund Isaac, makeup artist Ines Lobregat, and stylists Matt Gozun and Shahani Gania (Vogue Italia usually provides the team for these features, according to Rocio, but she requested to work with local pros, and they were more than happy to oblige), Rocio talks lengthily about her hand-crafted minaudières made of acacia wood and other natural materials. She also represents Pinoy fashion in the video's photo shoot by wearing designs by TAN-GAN, Ito Curata, and Rosanna Ocampo, accessorized by Rocio bags, of course.
