After 22 very successful seasons that aired for 12 years, with franchises all over the world, we bid America’s Next Top Model goodbye last October. We thought we’d permanently seen the last of the pioneer modeling reality show, but then news circled that it will in fact air again—only with a different host. We were sure the role would land on any of Tyra’s model friends, but clearly, we were wrong because ladies, artist Rita Ora will now be at the helm of ANTM.
After it was axed from the CW’s roster of shows last year, VH1 picked it up and needed a fresh face to host it. “Next Top Model bosses wanted to inject some freshness back into the format and they see Rita as the ideal new face. She is releasing a new single later this year to coincide with it," shares a source. Fans of the show shouldn’t be concerned though, because aside from the fact that Tyra had a say as to who would replace her, she will also work behind-the-scenes as the executive producer. Truth be told, with Rita's judging background from the X-Factor, plus her love for fashion as seen in her collabs with adidas, the singer is actually a perfect fit for the job.
Now we just have to see how they will revamp the show for millennials.
