Rajo Laurel has got his hand in yet another venture, this time working alongside long-time client, Marissa Florete-Gorriceta, to create a collection of wedding bands for F&C Jewelry. The brand was established by Marissa's parents, Marcelino Florete Jr. and Susan Caperonce, in Iloilo in 1973, and boasts of 40 branches in various SM Department Stores nationwide.

“We wanted something fresh for our wedding line,” said Marissa on the collaboration. “Rajo is a top wedding designer, so naturally we went to him.”

In an age where current fashion has married women wearing both their engagement ring and wedding band together, on a daily basis, design preferences become a huge deciding factor. Rajo targets the fashion-forward and conventional alike with this 10-piece collection.

Neat rows of diamonds on the Saucer and the Parallel hark back to a forever favorite, the eternity setting of diamonds. The tri-color gold Triad, whose ladies' version has a middle row of diamonds, seems to take inspiration from Cartier's Trinity ring; a design that enjoyed a bit of a cult status in its heyday. Of course, being a fashion designer at heart, Rajo toyed with design elements inspired by his clothing: the gathered effect on the Rouched, or the criss-cross pattern on the Quilt.
Rajo even suggests that these rings are not solely meant for those en route to marriage, but also for any jewelry enthusiast. Marissa confirms that each ring can be bought separately (regardless of whether or not you have a significant other) and designs can be customized to suit any size (be it ring or diamond carat).

Now that Rajo has become a go-to name for wedding gowns, wedding cakes (Red Ribbon), and wedding bands, one can't help but wonder if other things like flowers or shoes will fall into the mix one day.
