The Story Behind Reparer Studio's Casual Necktie Shirt

Reparer (pronounced reh-pah-ray) is a homegrown label that fuses French aesthetics with Filipino sensibilities. Founded by stylist Miss Keith, the brand offers a selection of not-so-basic basics that are mindfully crafted for the country's equatorial climate. Think relaxed-fitting polos, skirts, and shorts done in familiar patterns and colorways.

In recent months, their signature La Chemise—a button-down shirt with a matching necktie—has been spotted on a number of stylish celebrities around the metro. Preview caught up with Miss Keith to learn more about the star piece and how interested patrons can add it to their closets.

Miss Keith on the Reparer Le Chemise Shirt

Reparer translates to "fix" in English, while Le Chamise literally means "the shirt." Miss Keith explains that the brand seeks to "honor the timeless elegance of French fashion while keeping the piece grounded in our local context."

While it takes inspiration from Parisian design codes, it's crafted in lightweight and breathable fabric that can suit all kinds of weather, particularly Manila's heat. "It’s constructed to offer ease and comfort without compromising on style," the brand's creative director adds.

Available in four variations—a striped cream, a cherry-like red, a stone grey, and a striped beige—the shirt comes with a matching necktie. It is offered in long-sleeve, short-sleeve, or sleeveless styles. Depending on the iteration, prices range from P4,199 to P4,399.

Miss Keith adds that the La Chemise was intentionally designed to be worn with Reparer’s other pieces, namely the Le Pantalon, Le Short, and Le Skirt. Of course, it also pairs effortlessly with other bottoms or layers well under outerwear.

Given the La Chemise's evident versatility, it's been donned by a number of stylish celebrities, and coincidentally enough, by housemates from the most recent season of Pinoy Big Brother.
