After two to three years of collecting designer bags, Rei Germar has finally revealed the pieces that she intends to keep forever—and TBH, we totally can't blame her! Check out some of the timeless arm candy we're dying to steal from her closet below:
1. Balenciaga
Every time someone asks her what she thinks is a good first luxury bag, for Rei, it's gotta be the Balenciaga City Mini because it's functional and "not too loud."
2. Gucci
This Gucci Marmont bag is pretty memorable because it's the first one she really saved up for. "Hindi ko alam kung mare-recommend ko pa siya because it's ubiquitous... Everyone has it, but it's also a classic."
3. Dior
Rei has three bags from Dior. She shares, "When I think of Dior, she's very ladylike. Parang 'di ako 'yon. Parang I'm leaning towards sa mas chill lang." She has the Dior Book Tote, which she says is perfect for everyday use: "Yung buong buhay ko kasya dito."
That said, there is one Dior bag that Rei regrets buying, and it's the Dior Saddle because it's really tiny and almost nothing fits. LOL! If you're looking for a Dior bag to invest in, however, her advice is to go for the classic Lady Dior.
4. Hermes
Next up: The Hermes Evelyne handbags. Rei gushes, "Kaya ko 'to binili kasi sobrang cute niya." As a brand, the content creator explains that Hermes is more "mature" for her taste but that she liked these specific pieces because they're so light. "Literally, parang wala akong hawak."
"This bag will always remind me that you get what you work for talaga," Rei says of the Birkin—a real investment piece.
5. Louis Vuitton
Another sentimental bag in her collection is the Louis Vuitton Palm Springs backpack; Rei's mom bought it for her as a college graduation present.
6. Prada
You probably recognize this next one because so many content creators have it: the Prada Pochette.
7. Chanel
Rei, of course, has several Chanel bags in her collection—it's her favorite brand, after all. The first Chanel bag she ever got was the Wallet on Chain. According to the YouTuber, Chanel is known for increasing the prices of their bags and when Rei bought this specific one, it was priced at P90,000. Now, it goes for P120,000!
An item she got because of Ko Mun Yeong from It's Okay to Not Be Okay is the Chanel Kiss-Lock Bag. "The only thing I hate about this bag is since mabigat yung hardware niya, bumabagsak siya."
