It started with a lot of hype—eight short films that circulated on the web that cleverly had us all guessing what the project is all about, and who the designer is. Big retail collaboration Rajo Laurel for Plains & Prints finally launched last night, amidst much fanfare and excitement.
Whitespace was transformed into a labyrinthine showcase divided into several areas representing the dimensions in Rajo's "Design Odyssey." Guests were greeted by the following words, which told them they were in for quite a novel experience.

It was a collaborative adventure (led by host-slash-tour-guide Joey Mead) that allowed guests to be thoroughly acquainted with Rajo's creative processes. It really was quite a refreshing idea for a retail launch—wish more of them would be interactive like this!
Guests were treated to an exclusive sale of the R+P line at the last stop of the "Odyssey." These lucky shoppers were the first to get their hands on the line's limited stocks. But don't fear, there will be a preview selling of the collection on March 4, 5, and 6 at the Plains & Prints branches in Shangri-La Plaza Mall, SM Mall of Asia, and TriNoMa.
The collection will be available in all Plains & Prints boutiques on March 11, 2011. Best to mark your calendars, and hurry!
In the meantime, read on to experience—or relive—the "Design Odyssey" adventure. You can also watch the video to see the Rajo Laurel for Plains & Prints in action!
