R.a.f. For Men Plains & Prints introduces a men's line for summer 2010.

The local design brand go-to of the tasteful, young and contemporary professional woman, R.A.F. by Plains & Prints, just expanded their brand with a new Men's line. It's meant to appeal to the label's clientele of young urbanites who possess a clean and stylish fashion sensibility. Carla Arguelles, the designer who helmed the creation of R.A.F.'s latest expansion, had this to say about the launch of the menswear line:

“Plains and Prints has always found ways to reinvent itself. We always want to find avenues where we can do something new and reach out to a wider range of clients. This is exactly how the R.A.F. by Plains & Prints brand started. We wanted a richer, more exclusive collection. We collaborated with designers under the R.A.F. label, namely Celine Lopez for our denim collection, [as well as] Rajo Laurel and Randy Ortiz. After much success, we decided to take R.A.F. Plains & Prints to another level leading to the birth of the R.A.F. Men's line.”

She tells us that this new line is meant to complement the brand's existing women's apparel. “When we release a collection for R.A.F. we make sure that the men's and women's lines make a cohesive story. They both complement each other. R.A.F. is all about enhancing the personal style of each of our clients. This is achieved by having a coexistence of eye-catching statement pieces [that are done] in unconventional styles, shapes and colors, and wardrobe essentials that are simple with a touch of detailing. It is the way clothes are mixed and matched with each other that brings out the uniqueness in every piece and the individuality of the customer.”

R.A.F. Men's counts as its target market young male professionals “who believe in creativity, self-expression and individuality. Their fashion sense is modern and trendy, but at the same time they maintain a sense of professionalism and credibility. [They] want quality clothing that is an alternative to the ordinary and works seamlessly from the office to a night out.”

Pieces from R.A.F.'s men's line remain at the P2000 and below price range, making it very affordable for today's young professional.
