Unlike every bright and bubbly summer collection presented at Panasonic Manila Fashion Fest 2019, Protacio went with the road less traveled and opted for a much darker line that serves as a striking contrast to the season.“The whole story is about the changing hues of a cloudy evening sky that slowly transcends from dark grays and milky whites to shades of blushing clouds against a grey break of dawn skies.” the designer tells Preview.
His take on fairytale dream pieces were marked by voluminous silhouettes and fringed embellishments reminiscent of The Addams Family, but make it fashion. If anything, it proves that even our anti-color, neutral-loving friends can have their own fair share of fun this season. For one, this gothic ballerina dress—rendered in emboidered art deco—deserves a special shoutout.
