The Preview Ball has always been more than a red-carpet affair. This year, as the brand marked its 30th anniversary, the celebration became a stage for the very people who have shaped Filipino fashion and culture. With the theme "homegrown," guests were invited to interpret the idea of Filipino creativity through formalwear—and the result was an evening where individuality, heritage, and innovation came together in full force.

The Preview editors themselves leaned into the night’s spirit of self-expression. Editor-in-Chief Marj Ramos-Clemente wore a sculptural, utilitarian creation by BFFD awardee Renz Reyes, featuring soft, cascading layers that reimagined formalwear with a distinctly modern Philippine sensibility. Managing Editor Reg Rodriguez opted for a cobalt blue Proudrace gown with a mix of ease and edge that reflected her own approach to style, while Creative Director Bacs Arcebal chose the same hue in a draped Rajo Laurel creation, marrying classic elegance with contemporary fluidity.

The rest of the editorial team showcased their own personal takes on "homegrown"—proof that the publication’s DNA has always been rooted in both personal style and cultural pride.

Beyond the editors, the night was a testament to community. Filipino creatives—from designers to makeup artists, hairstylists, models, and cultural tastemakers—filled the room, each one embodying the spirit of Preview and the industry it has championed for three decades.

Preview Ball 2025 was well attended by its past and present BFFD honorees, including this year's Renz Reyes Jaggy Glarino, as well as Abraham Guardian of Ha.Mu and Chris Nick from the pioneering batch. PHOTOS: Paul Paredes II
Designers Abraham Guardian and Mamuro Oki of Ha.Mu arrived in their own playful, deconstructed pieces—a reflection of their boundary-pushing design language. They were joined by a battalion of muses who embodied the brand’s irreverent spirit, including Best Dressed awardee John Lozano, photographer Alan Segui, dancer and Creative 25 honoree Sky Bautista, and more.
The guest list reflected the diversity of Filipino creativity, bringing together talents from fashion, beauty, photography, film, and beyond. It was a rare convergence of local creatives across disciplines. We spotted our cover photographer BJ Pascual in Joey Samson, filmmaker Sam Lee in Proudrace, celebrity stylist Lyn Alumno in Yasha Rosales, and makeup artist Jason delos Reyes in Jaggy Glarino.
