Nepalese fashion designer Prabal Gurung, 36, has raised $318,196 for the victims of the earthquake in Nepal, reports the New York Times.
After hearing about the devastating news and receiving several distressed messages from his family and friends still in Nepal, Gurung has been raising funds through his Shikshya Foundation Nepal. The foundation has partnered with CrowdRise, a Nepal earthquake relief fund, and are just a few more donations away from reaching their $500,000 goal.
Gurung is planning to raise a major fashion-fund raising event for the relief. Celebrities, such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Kardashian, have shared news about Gurung’s relief efforts on Twitter and IG.
Needless to say, it’s amazing what these fashionable minds can accomplish when they rally together.
