On November 21, National Artist Jose "Pitoy" Moreno will be honored with a tribute gala at the Isla Ballroom of the EDSA Shangri-La Manila.
To celebrate the genius, artistry, and creativity of the esteemed Filipino designer, 100 pieces of Philippine costumes, couture gowns, 19th century-inspired pañuelo-draped Maria Claras, and ternos—the creation of which he has famously exalted to an art form, impressing such hallowed fashion names as Pierre Balmain and Pierre Cardin—will be featured in the show.
Pitoy has staged 43 (and counting) shows all over the globe, but maintains a quiet lifestyle, receiving daily clients on his own and employing only five full-time sewers at his atelier. The show is a great opportunity to get a peek at his exquisite body of work.
Tickets for the show are available at P5000 each. Proceeds will go to the beneficiaries of the Lopez Group Foundation’s (LGFI) assisted community programs and projects. LGFI coordinates the Lopez Group’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, which focus on education, health and wellness, humanitarian assistance, livelihood, environment, and the promotion of Philippine arts and culture.
