Lest anyone forget, Pia Wurtzbach earned the moniker “Queen P” for a reason. Since Filipino audiences first saw her walk the stages of Binibining Pilipinas and, eventually, onto her hard-earned spot in the limelight as Miss Universe 2015, the beauty queen has her spectators transfixed.
Even after her tenure as its titleholder, Pia continues to have a stronghold on fans’ attention, be it her foray into cinema, or her recent stint as a guest judge on Drag Race Philippines. Throughout them all, the 33-year-old star shone in each appearance—and it’s not without a formidable team of her own.

To borrow a cliché, it takes a village to catapult a person’s stardom. Behind Pia’s dazzling looks and much-loved photoshoots is the glam team that works its magic. And behind her outfits that have broken the internet multiple times—well, you’ll probably have Perry Tabora to thank for that.
With a renowned client list including the likes of Liza Soberano and Janella Salvador, Perry is no stranger to his role as the mastermind behind the glitziest outfits of household names. But what is it really like to step into the shoes of a celebrity stylist? Read on below as Perry dishes out the info in this exclusive Preview interview.
Celebrity Stylist Perry Tabora on What It’s Like Working with Pia Wurtzbach
Describe the first time you met Pia.
I met Pia back in 2017 when I was booked to style her for an endorsement shoot. I had the privilege to style her again later that year with two other Miss Universe winners, Ms. France and Ms. South Africa. She was as lovely and humble then as she is now, and I very much enjoyed the first time we ever worked together.

How did you end up working together? How long have you been working together since?
My first official styling job for Pia was for a tribute shoot with Dennis Celestial. After that, I was one of the stylists that dressed her for her hosting job for Miss Universe Philippines. Then we ended up working together regularly after that!

How would you describe Pia as a client?
Pia is a stylist’s dream because she’s always game to try new things. She fully trusts me and she really brings my vision for her looks to life because she serves it like a true queen.
How has working with Pia impacted your career as a fashion stylist?
I’m truly grateful to Pia and her team for giving me the opportunity to style her. Because of my role, my creativity and aesthetic are able to reach many people through her.

As her fashion stylist, what can you say about her personal style/aesthetic?
Pia is a chameleon! Her style is constantly evolving and that’s what I like about her. She’s always game to try different trends, silhouettes, and colors as long as [they're] flattering.
Has your personal relationship developed since you first met? How would you describe Pia as a friend?
I would say that our relationship is the perfect balance of personal and professional. Pia is super easy to get along with and when it comes to work. She’s also a breeze to work with because she trusts me and my vision. As I’ve gotten to know her better since we started working together, I’d describe her as someone who is genuinely nice, modest, and just an all-around friendly and funny person.

What's your most unforgettable moment working with Pia?
Honestly, all my shoots with Pia are unforgettable for me. It’s always an incredible experience to see her in her element and giving the look justice. She gives her 100 percent, so it’s no wonder that her pasabog shoots are always trending. You can feel her dedication and passion for the job just by looking at the photos, and I’m so happy and fortunate to be a part of them.
I think my favorite so far is when I styled her for the Preview Ball. When I saw the Saint Laurent jumpsuit in the store, I immediately envisioned Pia wearing it. It was effortlessly chic.

Next would be when I dressed her in Jaggy Glarino—that one was definitely a moment! She stood out in a sea of glittery gowns because of the pop of color and the edgy silhouette of the ensemble.

Tell us something interesting about Pia that her fans don't know.
Pia’s work ethic is very admirable. She’s very professional and gets the job done, but she’s also hilarious and witty behind the cameras. She’s also easy to bond with and talk to because she makes you feel super comfortable.
