These beauty queens prove that being Miss Universe is more than just skin deep.

Watch the country come together as two Miss Universe titleholders—Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray—team up for a fashion and benefit gala this coming June 4. A cause backed by female empowerment and a sense of unbridled community, the event's proceeds will go to both beauty queens' advocacies of choice: Love Yourself Incorporated and Young Focus Foundation, respectively.

Where Love Yourself is an organization that encourages self-love, equality, and anti-HIV discrimination through building treatment facilities, Young Focus, on the other hand, is all about ending poverty by building education programs for underprivileged kids. Both are no doubt promising advocacies that we as a nation should all support.

To make things even more interesting, the big event, aptly titled The Universe Gives Back, is also set to showcase the evening gown designs of eight local designers, including Albert Andrada, Rhett Eala, Michael Leyva, Ito Curata, Jot Losa, Avel Bacudio, Cherry Veric, and Martin Bautista. Each fashion designer will have five of their creations grace the runway, as modeled by this year's Bb. Pilipinas contestants, along with Pia and Catriona themselves. In order to differentiate one collection from the other, each designer was assigned a color to predominantly incorporate onto their designs.

According to co-chair Richelle Singson, they hope for the gala to become the catalyst for many more similar charity events with Miss Universe in the future as they look to "bring the brand to a higher level than a one-day television special."

Have a heart for giving back? Tickets for the benefit dinner will start at P10,000 per head, while VIP seats cost P15,000. Subsequently, gowns shown on the catwalk will be sold after the gala, which will be held at the Marriot Grand Ballroom.
