It’s Cannes season once again, and Filipina style maven Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey has returned to the South of France to take part in this year’s festivities.
Now attending for the fourth consecutive year, Pia has become a familiar presence at the glamorous affair. Representing L’Oréal as a brand ambassador, Preview's Style Icon for 2025 made another striking appearance on the red carpet in a dreamlike couture piece by Filipino designer Mark Bumgarner.

The floor-length column gown features intricate gold hand-beaded embellishments sweeping diagonally across the bodice before cascading along the skirt’s front panel.
Perfectly complementing her suite of Bvlgari jewelry, the detailing combines metallic gold threading with delicate beadwork, creating the effect of gilded flora glimmering against the ivory-toned base.

Mark’s design also includes a soft, floor-sweeping train attached at the back, further adding to the regal mood of Pia’s red carpet appearance.

As it turns out, the creation draws inspiration from Moulin Rouge!, the very film that opened the 2001 Cannes Film Festival.
“This gown reimagines Satine’s cinematic elegance through Filipino craftsmanship, with sculpted lines and intricate gold embroidery reminiscent of rice stalk or 'palay,'” Mark wrote on Instagram.

Pau is Preview’s go-to fashion girl. On most days, you’ll find her with coffee in hand, and dressed in an oversized blazer with floor-grazing jeans.
