PFW Holiday 2010.

The Luxe Wear B series of Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2010 contained 10-piece works inspired by a hodgepodge of things: the musical Chicago, the artsy city of Barcelona, holograms (yup, we were a little confused too), and a poem about the four seasons. But among the 15 names, one stood out quite evidently, beating out the ennui generated by the rather middling Fashion Week lineup.

Jaz Cerezo, a Project Runway Philippines participant, used a whole lot of leather to fashion her sculptural take on sexiness. Black leather bustier dresses took control of her collection, but before it turned into an S&M free-for-all, delicate lace dresses (the lace was overlaid on a silken, beige shift or a bodysuit) sashayed down the catwalk, tempering the overall look of the collection. It was an absorbing play of contrasts that took sexy from in-your-face prominence to lacy, sheer seduction.
