Highly respected and sought after Filipino fashion maestro Frederick Peralta staged a winning collection last May 28, 2010 for Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2010. It was a spectacle that was much appreciated not just by the ladies in the audience, but by the men too, for it had an abundance of not just elegant dresses and evening gowns, but impeccably tailored suits and tuxedos as well.

Frederick's 60-piece repertoire started off with two white princely men's suits, after which three black dresses with imposing hoods starkly lined with fabrics of primary colors followed. The introductory use of white, black, red, yellow, and blue seemed to connote the necessity of heeding the basics before one hies off to the peaks of grandeur. From these starting pieces, Frederick's collection lifted off to more liberal designs, such as in the gray and silver men's suit and the heavily sequined dresses that immediately followed.

Glamour and magnificence being his perennial forte (Frederick is one of the country's top bridal designers), the Philippine fashion industry veteran did not fail to pepper his collection with striking princess gowns that boasted of tiered bustiers or sequined bodices, hand-dyed degradé tulle skirts (again of primary colors), and matching glittering neckpieces.

A standout, however, is the dramatic ending triumph modeled by Wilma Doesnt. It was but natural that the gown was selected to be the collection's final piece, as it embodied all the high drama required by a finale. The gorgeous and structurally simple black evening gown featured a hem and long train lined with intricate rosette embellishments, and was capped off by an oversized multicolored neckpiece. A tall black plumed headpiece completed the collection's final look.
