The beauty of the lavender fields in Provence has definitely fascinated Philipp Rodriguez. Fresh blooms are the first-degree inspiration of choice for any summer collection. Obviously, the flower fields were reimagined like a fantastical dreamland. Projecting the beauty of spring blossoms, Philipp presented a collection that is right in time for the Spring/Summer season.
Inspired by lavender fields, of course, the collection was splashed by the pastel hue. Bright enough without drowning you out, lavender is such a flattering hue. Lavender wasn’t the only star of the show here, though. The shade definitely looked lovely mixed in with a more summery palette. There were pieces with saccharine-colored stripes and dresses adorned with lilac bows and dainty floral prints. To offset all the sweetness, the show also featured sexier and darker-hued fringe floral dresses. In terms of style, the collection offered up some variety ranging from soft feminine frocks to more daring fringe cocktail dresses.
We would like to pick just one favorite, but it’s far too difficult to do. For the pieces that caught our eye, it would have to be the multi-coloured off-shoulder top (perfect for summer), the blue floral gown (our occasion wear of choice), the tiered lavender gown (what we’d wear for making an entrance), the pale blue suit (a good choice for every dapper gent) and the two-piece organza fringe dress (incredibly fashion-forward). In this collection, sophistication and lightness made a winning combination.
With the designer looking at femininity with the utmost respect, it is for certain that the entire collection is a celebration of grace and beauty. Wearing one of these lovely creations will definitely make any woman feel like a dream. In the end, Philipp Rodriguez succeeded in seemingly transporting us into the dreamy, fantastical dimension of lavender fields.
