Mixy Dy opens the season by challenging the meaning of power dressing. In Ode to the Geode, the empowered woman is not defined by her pantsuits. Instead, the designer proves the power of a striking print for speaking volumes for edge, strength, and fearlessness—even in monochrome. Patterning the prints to the hidden crystal rock formations only broadened the metaphor. Meanwhile, the print sprayed across the pieces, a woman with a heart, was more straightforward, shuttling the most discernable message of love.
The 25-piece collection, which ranged from crop tops to short dresses and evening downs, didn't downplay the designer's knack for surprises. Conservative pieces like turtlenecks and long-sleeved shirts had shoulders and necklines bared. A black jumpsuit had one pantleg swarmed with sequins. One bodysuit, styled with fishnets, was transformed elegantly with a fur sequined bomber jacket.
