Personal Stylist: Les MisÉrables We come up with five exciting outfits inspired by the long-awaited big screen adaptation of the Broadway hit.

FINALLY! After the long and grueling wait—we're not exaggeratingLes Misérables the movie has made its way to our movie theaters! Yes, we know they brought home awards trophies, a fact that only makes us even more eager to trek to the cinemas to get our musical-turned-movie fix. More than the soundtrack however, it's also the outfits inspired by the beloved lead characters that get us all giddy.

See how we transform Jean Valjean, Fantine, Marius Pontmercy, Enjolras, and Cosette’s period outfits into wearable present-time ensembles. Let’s have a little fun, shall we?

COSETTE

Cosette’s signature style revolves around florals and lace in pastel colors. Modern day Cosettes can combine these details minus all the excess cloth from her gowns. Think Duchess of Cambridge: simple and classy but never boring.

FANTINE

Fantine’s dress is more on period-grungy (!), but in a very faint purple/pink hue. Our interpretation: Combine a white lace crop top with a gray maxiskirt and black booties for a feminine edgy vibe.

 MARIUS

We're digging the check print on this particular outfit of Marius. Take advantage of the sudden cool, breezy weather (don't you love it?) by layering while you can! Wear a sweater over the plaid top and pair with jeans for a preppy, laid-back look.

JEAN VALJEAN

Most of Jean Valjean's clothes are either structured or rendered in earth tones. We play things up a bit by coupling a navy blue military coat with a leather skirt and booties.

 ENJOLRAS

The red jacket is the muse of this ensemble. We retain Enjolras' polo and boots, got a weather-friendly tweed version for the blazer, modernized his trousers via a studded shorts version, and added a hat to make the overall look fun.
