PEFTA season just started a few weeks ago and while the new batch is busy working on their collections, we took the time out to get in touch with former finalists to see how they are doing in their design careers. From designers going global to retail hotshots, here’s a list of former finalists who are now in demand in the media production scene.
Jaz is currently busy with clients, mostly bridal. She’s also styling for TV networks every now and then. Aside from that, she’s also the president of the Fashion Designers Alliance (FaDAL), a group of very talented and dynamic designers where other PEFTA finalists--Noelle Llave, Cherry Veric, and Mark Tamayo--are also members.
ON BEING PART OF PEFTA
Being part of PEFTA brought a lot of opportunities especially since I am part of the prime batch. It is the first and only of its kind and while the prestige alone is overwhelming, the audience that you are exposed to are the industry's best.
LOOKING BACK: HER GREATEST LESSON
PEFTA pushed me to be creative with the theme they presented. But more than that, being chosen alone just made me want to enjoy the whole experience.
LOOKING FORWARD: 2013 PLANS
I am planning to open a shop here in Metro Manila and another one in my hometown, Dagupan City.
PAYING IT FORWARD: TWO CENTS FOR THE NEW BATCH
Just set your aims high and hit the mark.
