WHAT IS YOUR COLLECTION ABOUT? ANYTHING SPECIFIC IT WAS INSPIRED BY?

After discovering my love for photography in college, I thought I was going to be a photographer, but life had other plans and I ended up in fashion design. My love for taking pictures never waned though, so I knew that motion freeze was the concept I wanted for my collection—an ode to my photography days. When I chanced upon an image of a bullet hitting a vase, and how everything looked so clean amidst the chaos, I knew I wanted to make this into a collection.

WHAT ARE THE TECHNIQUES AND MATERIALS THAT YOU USED? 

My focus was mainly on fine tailoring, but I've always been drawn to the contrast of feminine and structured elements. That's what my collection is about: bold and strong silhouettes on the outside, and a surge of feminine and romantic elements when least expected.

HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU LEARNED THAT THE THEME IS "ART OF MOVEMENT?" HOW DOES "ART OF MOVEMENT" TRANSLATE TO YOUR COLLECTION?

I found it hard at first, but as soon as I caught inspiration I knew I was on the right track. The art of movement is apparent from my clothes the way a long zipper would reveal a sudden burst of chiffon ruffles—I love that beautiful, shattered element.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE PIECE IN THE COLLECTION? 

I would say it's the last piece I finished, a structured dress with ruffles by the chest. It perfectly manifested my inspiration, a solid structure that suddenly bursts apart.

PEFTA IS FAST APPROACHING. HOW HAVE YOUR PREPARATIONS BEEN GOING, SO FAR?

While nervous, I'm just happy I'm part of this year's roster.

WHAT SHOULD THE EXHIBIT GOERS EXPECT FROM YOUR COLLECTION?

I want them to appreciate my clean aesthetic, and how I was able to successfully bring my inspiration onto my clothes.
