Pefta 2013 This year's new crop of designers brought their A-game with an outstanding interpretation of movement.

It was a celebration of talent and creativity as Preview formally introduced this year’s batch of emerging talents. Held at SM Aura Premier, guests were treated to a lovely exhibit dubbed as “The Art of Movement,” featuring the works of fashion students Bea Samson, Geoffrey Zordilla, Pristine de Guzman, Kevin del Poso, and Tony Evan. “I’ve been judging PEFTA for years and I think this is the best batch,” shares esteemed designer Inno Sotto. And Preview’s Editor-in-Chief, Pauline Juan, couldn’t agree more. “This batch really stepped up and definitely exceeded our expectations,” she proudly says.

Five designers were also commissioned to do a special collection for SM Aura.

Alongside the students are five upcoming designers—Adante Leyesa, Bien Santiago of Yuminum, Alexa Cheng, Marian Madayag, and sisters Reshnee, Sureen, and Neeresh Bhagwandas of DAS—who also gave us an interesting take on movement inspired by statues, superheroes, and nature. Remember Jessy Mendiola’s fabulous earrings by Adante Leyesa who made it on the cover of Preview’s April issue? How about Yumimum’s sexy black and white swimsuit worn by Jodi Sta. Maria last March? Yes, these designers already earned Preview’s seal of approval, which is why they deserve a spot in this year’s PEFTA batch.

Greater things are indeed coming our way and we are so excited to see how this new set can amp up the game and inspire more aspiring designers to always aim for excellence.
